Find Your Local and State Representatives

The Democracy Decree can be introduced by any local or state legislature.

Use the Cicero Representative Lookup to enter your address and view a full list of your elected officials.

Then follow these steps to take action:

  1. Identify Legislators: Look for your local and state legislative officials—these are the ones who can introduce the Democracy Decree. Depending on where you live, they may be called a City Council, Town Council, County Board, Board of Supervisors, State Assembly, House of Delegates, or State Senate, among other things. You may also want to include executive officials like your mayor, county executive, or governor.
  2. Tip: Start with the level of government where action is most likely. If your city or county is more supportive of democratic values than your state (or vice versa), focus your efforts there.

  3. Collect Contact Info: Record their phone numbers, email addresses, and mailing addresses.
  4. Reach Out: Use our guides to call, email, write, or meet with your representatives.
